About Kala(Art) Kuwait
Kala (Art) Kuwait is an Indian socio-cultural organization functioning in Kuwait with an objective to promote art and culture amongst our Indian community. We, Kala (Art) Kuwait, a leading Progressive Art and Socio Cultural Organization among the Indian Community in Kuwait having distinguished, systematic Art & Cultural programs and extending its hands to the poor and needy. Kala (Art) Kuwait has always been in forefront to give supports and helps to the growing bud artists time to time. Kala (Art) Kuwait is dedicated to the developments and promotions of the traditional and cultural arts of Kerala. It is intended to provide with chances and avenues to the Art Lovers to show their talents in litral and classical art for entertainment amidst the day to day busy life. It was made possible only with the whole hearted supports and encouragements of the Indian Community in Kuwait.
The aims and objectives of the Association shall be focused on the farthest welfare of its registered members and their families. It shall be:
- Support for education, medical and career opportunities.
- Promote Indian Culture and Values
- Childrens' Day Celebration, celebrating the birth day of CHACHA NEHRU, the first Prime Minister of India by holding Painting Competition titled NIRAM.
- Free Malayalam Classes for Keralite Students during the month of July and August, enabling them to read and write their "Mother tongue".
- Indian Independence Day Celebration with Malayalam Class Students
- "Mathrubhasha Sangamam" a get-together of Students, Teachers, Parents.
- Picnic for Students and Parents based on Education.
- Onam & Eid Celebration with the traditional dances and variety of cultural activities by other distinctive artists to entertain the Indian expatriates along with a opulent meal "Onasadhya".
- Sambasivan Award: An Art and Literary Award in the name of Shri. V. Sambasivan, the maestro of 'Katha prasanga', story discourse, which will be awarded to renowned artists or literary figures.
- Promote, develop and encourage talent in youngsters among the member community by recognizing them through certificates of achievement medals and scholarships.
- Conducting Anniversary Programs with various cultural activities: Kala has always been in forefront to give supports and helps to the growing.
- Organize social gatherings to create a happy and pleasant environment among it members.
- Honor distinguished guests/government officials from India, who visit Kuwait from time to time.
- Co-operate with Norka cell activities for the harmony of Non-Resident Indians.
